YOUTH CONSERVATION CAMP
July 12-18, 2020
For 43 years, the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts has sponsored a week long summer conservation camp for Virginia high school students (currently enrolled in grades 9-12) on the campus of Virginia Tech. The program brings together about 70 interested students for a week of learning about Virginia’s natural resources from conservation professionals and faculty from Virginia Tech. Most of the instruction is hands-on and outdoors.
COUNSELORS ARE PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS VIRGINIA
All YCC counselors are conservation professionals (SWCD, NRCS, VA DOF, ETC) from across the State and have a passion for conservation education. Counselors serve to provide a safe and meaningful experience for each camper and spend the entire week with the group to ensure a comfortable camp life.
HRSWCD SPONSORS ONE WASHINGTON COUNTY STUDENT EACH YEAR
YOU COULD BE NEXT!
If You Are Interested In Attending YCC 2020, There Is A Short Application To Fill Out In Early Spring. The HRSWCD Staff And Directors Will Choose One Application From A Local High School Student For Sponsorship To YCC.
**All Camp Fees for one Selected Student Will Be Covered By The Holston River SWCD!**
